CMI is the diagnosis instrument

for 22.9kV underground cable's average deterioration, the theory of diagnosis

is DC voltage attenuation. Test voltage is DC 3kV and test time per phase

be 15 minutes.

For User's safety, instrument is insulated with teflon,

and has variant output voltage, max 10kV.The hardware is composed of CPU

MC68EN360, Flash memory 16Mbyte, ROM 4Mbyte, LCD and 5*5 matrix Key-Pad,

etc.

CMI has free voltage source and battery, so, user can

work that for 4 hours without power supply. CMI's MMI program can deal

with large DB, which has tree type DB of line information and data, communicate,

with instrument by RS-232, and has a function of self analysis, DB search

and sort.With discharge voltage's attenuation pattern, analysis algorithm

shows cable;'s deteriora -tion index as result of judgment, and has the

good resistance about external noises Now, CMI is employed by KEPCO.

The field test and diagnosis has been performed on several

power distribution posts.
